Here are a few things to do ( or not do ) when caring for your marble/granite/stone countertop/vanity. DO:

  • Blot up spills immediately.
  • Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. DO NOT:
  • Use products that contain lemon, vinegar or other acid content. These may etch the surface.
  • Use Cleaners that contain acids such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners, or tile cleaners.
  • Mix bleach and ammonia; this combination creates a toxic and lethal gas. NEVER USE BLEACH Bleach will bleach the stone which can be never NEVER USE WINDEX Windex attacks color minerals in the tstone. Black for example will turn grey over time. If anyone says they have been using Windex for years and nothing has happened have them compare it to a new piece of marble and they will notice the difference immediately. Fantastic, 409, Kaboom & Zap, strippers degreasers, ammonia and most other househould cleaning products.
